EGR malfunctioning. 4.Wiring Harness 1.MIL Lamp On 2.Reduced Engine performance / Misfiring Checkpoints: Check EGR Valve condition Trouble Shooting Steps: Sr. No. Steps Specifications Step 1 Check connector is connected properly Remove and connect again Step 2 Check for continuity between sensor connector pins 1, 2, 4,5,6 and ECU pins A68, A73,A45,A89,A56 respectively. Check the continuity between the sensor and ECU Step 3 Check the sensor physically Connect the ECU connector properly Step 4 If the problem persists, replace the sensor Physical check Circuit Description: ECM in accordance with engine and driving conditions gives a electric output to directly drive a DC motor (Part of EGR module) which in turn drives the EGR valve. Hence ECM indirectly controls the opening and closing of EGR valve. EGR plays an important role in emissions control by altering rate of flow of exhaust gases from exhaust manifold.
