IMV and rail pressure connection 2. Electrical wiring 3. ECU Pin connection 4. IMV electrical resistance on HP pump 1.MIL Lamp On 2.Engine will go into Limp home mode Component Details: Inlet Metering Unit (IMV) is used to control pressure inside the rail. The IMV delivers metered fuel quantity to high pressure pump. High-pressure pump delivers fuel to common rail. The IMV governing is done by ECU based on the demand to maintain the required rail pressure. The Rail Pressure Sensor is used to determine the actual rail pressure. That value is needed for high-pressure control, engine protection and injection control. The sensor is mounted on the rail. Checkpoints: 1. Check Battery Voltage 2. Check wiring harness connection related to IMV and Rail pressure Sensor 3. Check IMV and rail pressure sensor for any physical damage Trouble Shooting Steps: Sr. No. Steps Specifications Step 1 Check connector is connected properly Remove and connect again Step 2 Check for continuity between IMV sensor connector pins 1, 2 and ECU pins T87, A25, respectively. Check the continuity between the sensor and ECU Step 3 Check for continuity between rail pressure sensor Check the continuity between the sensor and ECU Step 4 Check the IMV and rail pressure sensor physically Connect the ECU connector properly Step 5 If the problem persists, replace the sensor Physical check Step 6 Check connector is connected properly Remove and connect again Circuit Schematic Diagram: Component Location and Image:
