These inputs are voltage signals received from coolant temp, intake air temp, engine rpm and air conditioning system pressure sensors. Once the EMS ECU has received these inputs it can modify the signal to the throttle actuator. P2100 is typically set because of electrical (throttle actuator circuit) issues. These cannot be overlooked in the troubleshooting stage, especially when dealing with an intermittent problem. Overview: Code Cause Effect on Vehicle Fault Code: P2101-08 1. Open or short in the circuit to the Throttle Actuator 2. likely Failed Throttle Actuator - inoperative (mechanically or electrically) 3. likely Failed PCM - unlikely 1 Malfunction Indicator Light ON 2 Fixed idle speed 3 Unable to accelerate engine Trouble Shooting Steps: Sr. No. Steps Rectification Step 1 Check the Battery voltage Check the battery voltage Step 2 Check the ECU Physical check and replace the ECU Step 3 Check open or short circuit to throttle actuator Continuity check Step 4 Check functionality of throttle actuator for failure if any Physical check
