This document must not be used in any way, such as copying and redistributing to third parties, without our consent P0381-00: Glow Plug Control Module 1 Control Circuit/Open Overview: DTC Description as per ISO standard Glow Plug Control Module 1 Control Circuit/Open ECU Pin Number A93, A94 Customer Symptom Delayed engine start under cold environment conditions Fault Effects (On Vehicle) Glow plug control will be disabled. Lamp Status (If Any) CE lamp is on. Fault Detection Condition Glow Plug Drive pin of EMS ecu pin A93 Open circuited. Normal Operating Condition Diagnostic tool display the Glow plug status at ignition ON Probable Trouble Area Glow plugs, Glow plug controller, ECU, Wiring harness Healing Condition Clear the errors, Ignition OFF to ON, engine idle & fly-up condition Component Details: Under cold condition, the Engine will not start at first crank. So Glow plugs are used to increase the combustion chamber temperature allowing the air-fuel mixture to reach its self-ignition condition, which will ensure engine start with large benefit in-terms of emission & combustion. Preliminary Checks Check whether the customer voice / view about the issue is matching with the fault effects mentioned above. If yes, go ahead with next steps. If not, check for other DTC’s presence. Check whether similar complaints are earlier reported. If yes, perform the preliminary checks with respect to earlier issue closure. Check whether the GP relays are physically damaged. Check for pins back out at EMS ecu connector and Glow plug relays. Check the 60 A fuse of glow plug relay 1 and 2, replace if they are blown off. Check the fuse of EMS ecu main power relay, replace if it is blown off. Check whether glow plug is getting supply through main relay. Check whether the resistance of glow plugs is according to specifications, if not replace the glow plugs Trouble Shooting: Step Checks IF YES IF NO 1. Is there any rust/oxidization observed on glow plug Terminals Clean the Rust or repair or replace Go to Step 2 2. Is there wiring harness electrical continuity between ECU pins 93 & GP mini relay (40A) pin 86, ECU pin 94 & Glow plug micro Relay (20A) pin 87. Also Check continuity Go to Step 3 Establish continuity by rectifying harness connections as per
