This document must not be used in any way, such as copying and redistributing to third parties, without our consent P0833-00: Clutch pedal Switch “B” (Top Travel) Circuit Overview: DTC Description as per ISO standard Clutch Pedal Switch "B" Circuit ECU Pin Number B12 Customer Symptom No critical effect Fault Effects (On Vehicle) No critical effect Lamp Status (If Any) CEL Lamp is ON Fault Detection Condition This fault gets logged if the EMS ecu doesn't detects any transitions in the clutch top travel input though the vehicle speed has crossed a maximum calibrated threshold in kmph Normal Operating Condition No faults related to clutch sensor inputs detected by EMS. Probable Trouble Area Clutch Sensor, EMS ECU, Grounding points, Wiring harness between Clutch sensor and EMS ECU. Healing Condition Clear the errors, Ignition OFF to ON Component Details: Clutch position sensor is a hall effect based sensor which provides two digital inputs to EMS ecu. First input is top travel input – which implies clutch pedal is pressed 40% another input is Clutch bottom travel input – which implies clutch pedal is pressed 90%. Clutch 40% input will be used for Vehicle drivability refinements and Clutch 90% input will be used for Vehicle start, CGD and GSI functions. Preliminary Checks Check whether the customer voice / view about the issue is matching with the fault effects mentioned above. If yes, go ahead with next steps. If not, check for other DTC’s presence. Check whether similar complaints are earlier reported. If yes, perform the preliminary checks with respect to earlier issue closure. Check whether the clutch pedal connector is connected or not. Refit the connector tightly. Check the clutch sensor gap between the Sensor Magnet and pedal as per the Sensor mounting specification and if deviations found then perform the necessary repairs. Check whether the Clutch sensor is getting power supply at its Pin 1. Read the Clutch State parameter in Diagnostic tool: a) When pedal is not pressed – Clutch Engaged b) When Pedal is partially pressed – Clutch Disengaged c) When the pedal is fully pressed – Clutch Fully disengaged
