U132A - 08: - Lost Communication with On-Board Charger (OBC) module - Bus Signal / Message Failures Overview: ISO Code (If applicable) U132A-08 Customer Symptom Vehicle would not go into charging mode for slow charging. Fault Effect (On Vehicle) The vehicle is drivable and slow charging is not possible on vehicle. Gun remains in locked position. Lamp Status (If Any) Vehicle charging symbol is not seen on cluster when slow charging gun is plugged in vehicle charging inlet socket DTC Detection Condition OBC CAN message are not received to VECU Normal Operating Condition OBC communicates to VECU via CAN protocol and is responsible for slow charging function Probable Trouble Area LV wiring Harness OBC signal connector/terminals OBC internal fault Healing Condition Disconnect the gun and connect back after VCU sleeps Component Details: The On-Board Charger (OBC) takes AC input and converts it to direct current to charge a HV battery. The LV supply of OBC is from 12V battery. It requires AC HV supply voltage of 230V, 50Hz to charge the HV battery. Pre-Check Points: KL 30 12V LV supply to OBC KL 31 LV/Chassis ground to OBC a) Check for proper terminal connection of 12V LV Battery b) Check for OBC CAN pins in LV connector ( CAN H – pin 4A CAN L – pin 4B ) for any damage or backout. c) Check for equivalent resistance between CAN H & CAN L to be 60Ω d) Check for voltage between CAN H & CAN L to be 2.5V
