P a g e | 14 C0031-64 :- Left Front Wheel Speed Sensor- Signal Plausibility Failure Overview: ISO Code C0031-64 Customer Symptom Warning Light Displayed Fault Effects (On Vehicle) EBD – Available(Degraded Function), ABS & ESP – Not available Lamp Status (If Any) ABS – ON, EBD – OFF, ESP – ON Fault Detection Condition FL WSS is not functioning as expected Normal Operating Condition i VBAC ECU is functional in between 10V to 16V. FL WSS gives correct information to i VBAC ECU. Probable Trouble Area 1. WSS Sensor defective. 2. Loose contact/intermittent short in the WSS line. 3. Magnetic Encoder mis-installation/damage. 4. Too much air gap. 5. Different WSS Sensor/Tires mounting. 6. Foreign Material accumulation in air gap between WSS head and Encoder. 7. i VBAC ECU faulty. 8. Non-plausible high wheel acceleration/Gradient/frequency. 9. Software Parameter Setting Error. Healing Condition Fault identification and rectification/ WSS replacement Component Details: Wheel Speed Sensor: A wheel speed sensor is part of the Electronic Stability Control (ESC). It is located on the Knuckle Assembly (for front wheels) and on rear twist beam (for Rear wheels). The job of the wheel speed sensor is to constantly monitor and report the rotational speed of each wheel to the Electronic control module. Preliminary Checks:  Check for loose contact/intermittent short in the WSS line and remove it. (Pin no. 17 and 27 w.r.t to GND (pin no.14, 46) and battery (pin no.1).  Check WSS is installed and WSS is not dislodged from bracket / WSS is securely fastened.  Check air gap. It should not be too much  Check for Magnetic Encoder Physical damage.
