Nexon MCE ESP DTC Troubleshooting data Document no: X01ME111219 Date: 11-Dec-19 U0046-88:- Vehicle Communication Bus A-Bus off Overview: ISO Code U0046-88 Customer Symptom All lamps of Instrument Cluster will be ON Fault Effects (On Vehicle) ABS – Available, EBD – Available, ESP – Not available, HDC– Not available, HHC– Not available Lamp Status (If Any) All lamps of Instrument Cluster will be ON Fault Detection Condition 1. Short circuit between CAN_H -CAN_L, CAN_H -GND, CAN_L-Vbatt, CANL-GND, CANH-Vbatt. Normal Operating Condition ECU communicates properly with TML diagnostic Tool. Probable Trouble Area CAN_H and CAN_L wires Healing Condition Removal of the above mentioned short circuit faults in the wiring harness or at ECU pin. Preliminary Check: 1. Check resistance in Diagnostic CAN pin no. 8 and 9. It should be 120 Ω. 2. Check for short conditions between CAN_H (pin no. 14)-CAN_L (pin no.2), CAN_H (pin no. 14)-GND (pin no. 13), CAN_L (pin no. 2)-GND (pin no. 13), CAN_H (pin no. 14)-Vbatt (pin no. 1) and CAN_L (pin no. 2)-GND (pin no. 13). There should not be any short circuit conditions. 3. Check continuity between IPC CAN_H (pin no. 6) vehicle side connector to OBD connector CAN_H (pin no. 14) and CAN_L (pin no 5) vehicle side connector to ODB connector (pin no.2). 4. Read IVN DTCs in ABS/ESP in IGN ON condition Note: After rectification please give Ignition latch to heal the DTC.
