Nexon MCE ESP DTC Troubleshooting data Document no: X01ME111219 Date: 11-Dec-19 U0401-81:- Invalid Data Received From ECM/PCM-Invalid serial data received Overview: ISO Code U0401-81 Customer Symptom Warning Light Displayed Fault Effects (On Vehicle) ABS – Available (W/O Drag Torque Control), EBD – Available, ESP, HHC & HDC – Depends on fault type Lamp Status (If Any) ABS – OFF, EBD – OFF, ESP. HHC & HDC – Depends on fault type Fault Detection Condition Incorrect data received from ECM ECU Normal Operating Condition ECM ECU sends correct data in normal condition. Probable Trouble Area ECM ECU and its interface circuits and sensors Healing Condition After rectifying all the functional failures in the ECM ECU. Preliminary Check: 1. Check resistance in Diagnostic CAN pin no. 8 and 9. It should be 120 Ω. 2. Check for short conditions between CAN_H (pin no. 14)-CAN_L (pin no.2), CAN_H (pin no. 14)-GND (pin no. 13), CAN_L (pin no. 2)-GND (pin no. 13), CAN_H (pin no. 14)-Vbatt (pin no. 1) and CAN_L (pin no. 2)-GND (pin no. 13). There should not be any short circuit conditions. 3. Read IVN DTCs in ABS/ESP in IGN ON condition Note: After rectification please give Ignition latch to heal the DTC.
