TPMS ECU Replacement Procedure 2.1. Pre-checks / tasks to be done before replacing the ECU 1) After performing all the necessary checks as per the troubleshooting guide, at wire harness and if no root cause is found, then follow the below procedure. 2) Connect the diagnostic tool to OBD connector. 3) Turn the IGN ON using SSB / Key. Check on IPC whether it displays TPMS data or not. 4) If IPC displays either one/more of tyre data incorrectly then check with TPMS sensor. 5) If Sensor related fault is there then follow the procedure given in section 3.2. 6) Check the customer reported fault, whether it is rectified. 7) If the fault is rectified, disconnect the OBD connector and diagnostic tool. If step 7 (above) is NOT OK, i.e. fault is not rectified, follow the TPMS ECU replacement procedure given below. 2.2. ECU replacement procedure Prerequisite: 1) Gateway (Instrument Cluster) shall be functional. 2) TPMS Sensors with known sensor ID shall be available. 3) Latest vehicle configuration / parameter data shall be available on the server. 4) New TPMS ECU shall be available for replacement. NOTES: It is not allowed to take TPMS ECU from another vehicle for replacement. Take a new ECU always. PROCEDURE: 1) Disconnect the battery. 2) Locate the TPMS ECU (Refer Figure 1 for location of TPMS).
