P3016 - 84: - DC Charging Inlet temperature sensor 1 - signal below allowable range Overview: ISO Code P3016-84 Customer Symptom DC Fast charging is stopped. Slow charging may not occur if there is issue (short to ground) in harness connecting charging socket to VECU Fault Effects (On Vehicle) The vehicle is drivable. DC fast charging will not occur and slow charging may not take place in vehicle if this detect is active Lamp Status (If Any) Vehicle charging symbol ( ) is blinking when charging gun is plugged in vehicle charging inlet socket. Once the charging inlet socket is removed the telltale gets off Fault Detection Condition When Charging inlet temperature sensor 1 is short circuit to ground Normal Operating Condition DC fast charging is ON when fast charging gun is plugged in. DC Charging inlet temperature is within the operating range. Probable Trouble Area LV wiring Harness Vehicle inlet DC charging line temperature sensor mounting in Charging inlet socket on vehicle Powertrain VCU connector Healing Condition If DTC trigger condition is healed, DTC is present only in memory. Component Details: DC Charging Inlet temperature sensor 1 to detect the temperature of the DC positive inlet line of charging interface. Preliminary Checks: Check wiring connections to the sensor Check the connectors connecting to VCU Physically inspect charging inlet socket LV connection pin for damage Trouble Shooting: - Ensure vehicle is in ignition OFF mode.
