P3031 - 11: - Traction cooling fast fan relay activation line - circuit short to ground Overview: ISO Code P3031 - 11 Customer Symptom Radiator fan is continuously ON in fast mode Fault Effects (On Vehicle) Traction cooling fan is continuously ON in fast mode even if command is not given by VCU Lamp Status (If Any) Service Indicator Lamp is ON, on the cluster Fault Detection Condition Traction cooling fast fan relay activation line short circuit to ground Normal Operating Condition Based on the signal from VCU operation of fan in fast mode is enabled or disabled Probable Trouble Area LV wiring connections Intermediate connections Powertrain VCU connector Healing Condition If DTC trigger condition is healed, DTC is present only in memory. Component Details: Traction cooling fan is operated in fast mode as per the signal received from powertrain VCU. The on and off command is given depending on the temperature of traction components. Preliminary Checks: 1. Loose connection of LV wiring harness between VCU and actuator 2. Damage to LV wiring harness connections between VCU and actuator Trouble Shooting: - 1. Remove the LV battery connections. Step No. Description Check point If Yes If No 1 Remove the LV connector of relay Check continuity between Chassis and LSD pin of relay LV connector. Problem is in the relay. Action: Replace the Solenoid and Go to step 1. Go to Step 2
