B190B - 11:- Outside Ambient Temperature Sensor Input Short To Ground Overview:- ISO Code B190B – 11 Customer Symptom Customer can see ‘--‘ on the display Fault Effects (On Vehicle) N/A Lamp Status (If Any) N/A Fault Detection Condition IC shall display OAT as ‘--‘deg.C. IC shall transmit OAT output CAN signals as default 25degree C value continuously and status as implausible. No OAT indication on IC. Normal Operating Condition IC shall display OAT value & Operating range is b/w -40 to 85 Deg. Probable Trouble Area Related wiring Harness, connector or terminals damaged IPC connector wired wrong, Harness wire shorted, Sensor connector wired wrong, Sensor damaged. Healing Condition IC shall recover from open/short condition after receiving valid values for 20s or Ignition On/Off. Preliminary Checks:- 1. Check Battery Voltage is normal in the range (9v - 16v) 2. Check OAT lines for Pinch/Cut. 3. Check ECU & Sensor pins for oxidation, bending & damage. 4. Check and ensure OAT Sensor is giving linear Resistance output w.r.to the Temperature change. 5. Check Sensor resistance on Connector C, Pin no. 26 (OAT i/p) & 27 (OAT GND) of the wired connector, whether it is according to the design specifications (between 320 to 100.923k ohm). DTC’s confirmation:- After rectification, ensure the following points before handing over the system to the customer a) Battery voltage should be 9-16v. b) Ensure ECU connector is place correctly. c) In the absence of OAT sensor IC shall display ‘--‘deg. C. d) Check and ensure OAT Sensor input & follows the same Deg. C value on display. e) Check also in vehicle driving condition & check the temperature change on display.
