U0140 - 08:- Lost communication with Body Control Module- Message Timeout Failure Overview: - ISO Code U0140-08 Customer Symptom BCM functionality such as Hazard, Door indication, Lamp indication, etc. does not work Fault Effects (On Vehicle) BCM functionality such as Hazard, Door indication, Lamp indication, etc. does not work Lamp Status (If Any) N. A Fault Detection Condition 1. BCM connector is not connected properly or disconnected from its location. 2. CAN Stub wire from IPC connector side is disconnected. 3. BCM ECU is not powered up. Normal Operating Condition BCM ECU communicates properly with TML diagnostic Tool. Probable Trouble Area Disconnection of the BCM connector Healing Condition To fix the BCM connector correctly and Fix the wiring harness issues from IPC side. Trouble Shooting: - DTC’s confirmation: - Start Read IVN DTCs in IPC If MTO logged against BCM in current state? No (In history) Check continuity between BCM CAN_H (Connector A pin no. 48 ) to IPC CAN_H(pin no. 6) and BCM CAN_L (Connector A pin no. 49 ) to IPC CAN_L(pin no. 5) in vehicle wiring side connector. Is continuity there? Repair the wiring harness Clear DTC Stop Check Ignition (Connector A pin no.9), Battery (Connector C pin no. 1,2 and connector E pin no.1) and Ground (Connector A pin no.34,47 and Connector B pin no. 26) of BCM is properly connected or not. Also check fuse blown (fuse15A,15A,15A) Do necessary repair in the harness Yes Yes No U0140-08 Loss of communication with Body Control Module
