©copyright, Confidential, Tata Motors Limited 5 Pre-checks / tasks to be done before replacing the Telematics Control Module 1. After performing all the necessary checks as per the troubleshooting guide, at wiring harness, switches etc., and if no root cause is found, then follow the below procedure to replace the TCM. 2. Ensure that the Tata Diagnostic Service (TDS) tool is having good & stable Internet connectivity in the workshop (preferred internet speed >20 Mbps). 3. Ensure the latest version of TDS is available & installed at the workshop Toughbook / Laptop. 4. Connect the diagnostic tool to OBD connector. 5. Turn the IGN ON. 6. Perform step mentioned for troubleshooting the TCM as per troubleshooting guide. 7. Check the customer reported fault, whether it is rectified. 8. If the fault is rectified, disconnect the OBD connector and diagnostic tool. 9. If step 5 (above) is NOT OK, i.e. fault is not rectified, follow the replacement procedure given in below sections. IMPORTANT NOTE: Do not replace the device with a device from another vehicle. This will lead to failure of replaced device. It is recommended to use only a new TCM from Spare Parts for replacement. IMPORTANT NOTE: Please ensure that the KYC of the new Telematics (which will be used for Replacement) is completed and data pack of the SIM is activated before starting the Replacement procedure.
