P a g e | 260 U1306-87 :- Lost Communication With Steering Angle sensor(EPAS ECU) -Missing Message Overview: ISO Code U1306-87 Customer Symptom None Fault Effects (On Vehicle) ABS & EBD – Available , ESC,HDC & AVH- Not available Lamp Status (If Any) ABS – OFF, EBD – OFF, ESC – ON, AVH - ON HDC-ON Fault Detection Condition 1. EPAS ECU connector is not connected properly or disconnected from its location. 2. CAN wire from EPAS ECU connector side are disconnected. 3. EPAS IGN & Battery fuse blown. 4. CAN_H, CAN_L or both lines of EPAS are open circuit. Normal Operating Condition EPAS ECU communicates properly with TML diagnostic Tool. Probable Trouble Area 1. EPAS connector / EPAS fuse. 2. CAN lines of EPAS ECU Healing Condition 1. EPAS ECU is connected and no wiring harness issues from TCM side 2. CAN_H, CAN_L or/ and both lines of EPAS are connected properly Preliminary Check: 1. Check resistance in Diagnostic CAN pin no. 6 and 14. It should be 120 ohm 2. Check CAN connection of EPAS ECU with vehicle network, There should not be any short circuit conditions. 3. Check for short conditions at I VBAC ECU 46 pin connector between CAN_H (pin no. 4)-CAN_L (pin no. 5), CAN_H (pin no. 4)-GND (pin no. 14&46 ), CAN_L (pin no. 5)-GND (pin no.14 &46), CAN_H (pin no.4)-Vbatt (pin no.1) and CAN_L (pin no.5)-GND (pin no. 14 & 46). There should not be any short circuit conditions. 4. Check continuity between IPC CAN_H (pin no. 8) vehicle side connector to OBD connector CAN_H (pin no. 6) and CAN_L (pin no. 7) vehicle side connector to ODB connector (pin no.14) 5. Read IVN DTCs in I VBAC in IGN ON condition. Note: After rectification please give Ignition latch to heal the DTC.
