U1324-08: Lost Communication With Intelligent Battery Sensor-Bus Signal / Message Failure Overview: ISO Code U1324 – 08 Customer Symptom 1.ESS Autostop / Autostart will Disable. 2.IAC (Intelligent Alternator Control) will not work. Fault Effects (On Vehicle) 1.ESS Autostop / Autostart will Disable. 2.IAC (Intelligent Alternator Control) will not work. Lamp Status (If Any) No Fault Detection Condition IBS is not able to communicate on LIN network. Normal Operating Condition IBS – EMS healthy LIN communication Probable Trouble Area IBS connector, IBS LIN connection with EMS ECU Healing Condition After 1 Drive cycle ignition On Fault is healed Fault permanent deletion 1. Scan tool Service 14 2. Stack Over Flow. 3. 40 warm up cycles. 4. ECU flashing 5. ECU power fail Component Details: The Alternator control integrated circuit is a monolithic multifunction communicated regulator specifically designed for closed loop voltage control for Valeo 12V automotive 3 phase alternators with a rotating field winding. The ECU will be able to communicate with the IAC via LIN interface. 1. Connect the TML TDS scan tool. 2. Read the DTCs. 3. Check whether the DTC is in confirmed/ memorized state. Trouble Shooting: - 1. Connect the TDS scan tool. 2. Check the DTCs in the EMS ECU. 3. Check alternator connection on LIN regulator. 4. Check if LIN connection from IBS is connected to EMS LIN pin with continuity check. 5. Check for LIN short to GND/ BATT 6. Correct the above steps if required. 7. Clear the DTC. Read the DTC gain in the EMS ECU. 8. Replace the alternator controller IBS. 9. Clear the DTC. DTC’s Healing Confirmation: - After rectification, ensure the following points by referring engine parameters using TML diagnostic tool before handing over to customer. Circuit Schematic Diagram:
