P061D-62: Fuel mixture correction factor error in CNG operation Overview: ISO Code P061D-62 Customer Symptom Poor driveability, and Vehicle in limp home mode Fault Effects (On Vehicle) Irreversible safety fuel cut off issued and vehicle in limp home mode ( engine rpm would be 1960) Lamp Status (If Any) MIL ON in 1st drive cycle Fault Detection Condition Deviation in mixture adaptation correction, lambda correction and fuel ratio is higher than allowed limits Normal Operating Condition Normal driving without any driveability issue, CNG fuel system functioning as required Probable Trouble Area CNG fuel injector, CNG fuel rail, CNG Rail Pressure and Temperature sensor, CNG pressure regulator, CNG HP line, CNG LP line, CNG LP filter, CNG fuel, and EMS ECU Healing Condition After 3 drive cycles Fault Permanent deletion 1. Clear DTC Command from Scan tool 2. Stack Over Flow 3. 40 warm up cycles 4. ECU Flashing 5. ECU Power-Fail Component Details: Fuel injectors are normally closed solenoid valves which operate when the electromagnetic core is energized by ECU. Based on engine operating conditions, ECU adjusts injection pulse widths to inject precise amount of fuel required. The CNG rail pressure and temperature sensor is a solid state pressure transducer having a NTC thermistor for measuring pressure and temperature of CNG. The pressure sensor is a semiconductor that varies electrical resistance when pressure is applied to its silicon chip. This sensor outputs the voltage in proportion to the internal fuel pressure. CNG Shut off Valve Pressure Regulator is opened to allow supply of CNG from high pressure line to low pressure line whenever CNG fuel mode is active. Preliminary Checks: 1) Loose/ Damaged Connections between Sensors/actuators and EMS ECU. 2) Check for back out of pins at both Sensors/actuators connector and ECU connector. 3) Check for damage of pins at both Sensors/actuators connector and ECU connector. 4) Check the continuity from Sensors/actuators connector pins to the ECU pins.
