The arrow mark in the sensor should be in the direction of air flow. - Step 6 Check for oil deposit or any other foreign particles deposition the sensor - Step 7 Check for air leakage - Step 8 Check the sensor physically for any damage - Step 9 If the problem persists, replace the sensor - Associated Parameters: Parameter Label Description DID Monitoring Intake port air flow Air flow read by sensor FE2D Reads above 8 g/s in running condition. In decelerations, both should read, closer values. Intake port fresh air flow Air flow calculated by Model. FE2E Verification condition: Drive the vehicle in city and highway condition having more number of deceleration conditions (eg. In third gear go up to 3000 rpm leave the pedal and don’t press the brake). Circuit Description: ECM monitors the Air mass flow with the help of AMF sensor. The AMF sensor is hot film type. The hot film is supplied with electric current from the Engine Control Module ECM. The temperature of the hot film is controlled by ECM by a certain amount. The heat generated by the hot film is reduced as the intake air flows around it. The more the air flow is, the greater the heat loss. Therefore, ECM must supply more electric current to maintain the temperature of the hot film as air flow increases. ECM detects the air flow by means of this current change.
