Check EGR Valve condition Trouble Shooting Steps: Sr. No. Steps Specifications Step 1 Check whether the ECU connector is connected properly - Step 2 Check all sensor connectors are connected properly & working correctly - Step 3 If the problem persists, replace the ECU - Verification condition: Drive the vehicle in city and highway condition. Circuit Description: ECM in accordance with engine and driving conditions gives a electric output to directly drive a DC motor (Part of EGR module) which in turn drives the EGR valve. Hence ECM indirectly controls the opening and closing of EGR valve. EGR plays an important role in emissions control by altering rate of flow of exhaust gases from exhaust manifold.
