EGR valve closed position learning is abnormal 2. Soot deposition on EGR valve 3. Excess wear of EGR valve 4. EGR malfunctioning 5. Electrical loose connection 6. ECU connector pin backout 7. Wiring Harness damage 8. ECU terminal pin bend or damage 1. CE Lamp ON. 2. Reduced vehicle performance. Lamp status: Check Engine Lamp on Malfunction Indicator Lamp off Checkpoints: Check for any other faults like AMF faults, ECU faults, electrical faults related to EGR etc are present. If present, address it first. Trouble Shooting Steps: Sr. No. Steps Specifications Step 1 Check whether the EGR connector is connected properly. Remove and connect again properly - Step 2 Check for continuity between EGR connector pins 1, 2, 4,5,6 and ECU pins A68, A73,A45,A89,A56 respectively. - Step 3 Check the ECU terminal pin for any damage or bend - Step 4 Check the EGR module physically for any damage - Step 5 Perform EGR valve cleaning& learning routines using service tool and check whether the fault is rectified - Step 6 Clean the EGR module with compressed air (not more than 2 bar) and Perform EGR valve learning routine using service tool. Coolant temperature > 80 deg, C, Battery voltage > 12 V, No electrical faults related to EGR should be present
