Use Service tool to actuate the throttle by demanding 100% and 0% of throttle position. If the throttle does not meet the demand, check the throttle for any damage. If found faulty, replace it. - Step 5 If throttle is working fine, Check whether the VGT is either stuck open thus causing the under boost. Use Service tool to actuate the VGT by demanding 100% and 0% of VGT position. If the VGT does not meet the demand, let the engine to cool down and check again. - Step 6 If the VGT feedback is matching the demand, perform VGT learning using service tool - Step 7 If the problem persists, replace the Turbo charger. - Associated Parameters: Parameter Label Description DID Range VGT actuator position demand High-pressure VGT actuator position demand FE B4 Both should match with error < 10% when engine is running VGT actuator position High-pressure VGT actuator position FE B7 Boost pressure demand Boost pressure demand FE6B Boost pressure demand to be noted Verification condition: Run the vehicle in highway condition in engine warmed up condition for 30 mins. Stop intermittently by providing power latch and start back the engine. Component Details: Turbocharger (TC) is used to generate desired boost pressure utilizing the left-over thermal energy of exhaust gases. It is Variable Nozzle Turbine (VNT) type in order to generate desired boost pressure across the entire engine operating conditions using vanes which are electrically controlled by EMS ECU. It is mounted on exhaust manifold of the engine. TMAP sensor is used to measure pressure and temperature of boost air supplied by turbocharger and provides the value to EMS ECU to allow turbocharger to match the actual boost generated with that of boost demand required. It is mounted on intercooler outlet header
