Replace the filter if defective - Verification condition: Drive the vehicle in city and highway condition. Component Details: Wateris separated by the filtermedium using the repellenteffect. Separated watergets collected in the bottom chamber of the sedimented body. Sedimentor is mounted on the long member of chassis behind mud flap of left front wheel. The water-in-fuel (WIF) sensor senses the presence of water collected in the bottom chamber and provides the information to EMS ECU which lits WIF tell-tale on IC to indicate the driver. Collected water is drained manually by opening a water drain plug at the bottom of the sedimentor body. This helps to prevent corrosion & damage to components of common rail system.
