WIF sensor short to supply 2. Defective water in fuel sensor 3. Contaminated fuel 4. Blown fuse or fuse-able link (if applicable) 5. Defective or worn fuel filter 6. Corroded or damaged connector 7. Faulty or damaged wiring 8. Faulty ECU 9. ECU terminal pin damage or bend 10. ECU connector pin backout 1. WIF Lamp ON 2. Engine may stall 3. Severe misfiring 4. Engine may not start 5. Poor fuel economy 6. Reduced vehicle performance 7. Disabled drive mode option Lamp status: Check Engine Lamp off Malfunction Indicator Lamp off Water In Fuel Lamp on Checkpoint: Check Battery Voltage at Ignition off (Nominal range 11.5V ~ 12.8V) Trouble Shooting: Sr. No Steps Specifications Step 1 Check whether fuel is contaminated with water - Step 2 Check whether the ECU connector is connected properly - Step 3 Check the ECU terminal pin for any damage or bend. Check the ECU connector for any pin backout - Step 4 Check if WIF sensor is faulty - Step 5 Check the continuity between WIF sensor connector pins 1,2 and ECU connector pins A63, A16 respectively - Step 6 Check for any corrosion or damaged sensor connector - Step 7 Check for faulty or damaged wiring -
