High-pressure pump delivers fuel to common rail. The IMV governing is done by ECU based on the demand to maintain the required rail pressure. The Rail Pressure Sensor is used to determine the actual rail pressure. That value is needed for high-pressure control, engine protection and injection control. The sensor is mounted on the rail.
