These are basically self-checks that ensure that ECM is functioning properly. If any malfunction is detected, ECM will set the DTC. ECM is supplied voltage from the battery positive supply through Main relay. ECM ground connection is connected to the battery negative supply. ECM functionality critically depends on ensuring proper ground connection.
