This document must not be used in any w ay, such as copying and redistributing to third parties, w ithout our consent P0567- 00: Cruise Control “Resume” Switch stuck – Cruise Control Resume Operation Fault Overview: DTC Code P0567- 00 DTC Description as per ISO Standard Cruise Control Resume Switch Stuck – Cruise Control Resume Operation Fault Customer Symptom(s) Vehicle comes out of cruise while incrementing cruise target speed (when vehicle is cruise active state) Fault Effect(s) (On Vehicle) Deactivates the cruise control system, Cruise is available again if fault disappears Lamp Status NA Fault Detection Condition(s) This DTC gets logged if EMS ECU detects Cruise Resume Switch is pressed for a too long time when vehicle is in cruise active state. Normal Operating Condition(s) Cruise control function working normal with No DTCs Probable Trouble Area(s) Cruise control switches, Wiring harness &EMS ECU Healing Condition(s) Rectify the DTCs, Clear the DTCs using diagnostic tool, Ignition ON/OFF Component Details: Cruise control allows the vehicle to be driven at a constant speed. It controls the vehicle speed to the speed selected by the driver without him/her needing to press the accelerator pedal. The injected fuel quantity is either increased or decreased until the desired (set) speed is reached. The driver can set the required speed by pressing cruise control buttons on the steering wheel. If the driver presses the clutch or brake pedal while cruise control is activated, control is terminated. The cruise control switches on the steering control providethe userinformationrequested to EMS ECU. Above DTC/ fault is logged in the ECU when vehicle is in cruise active state and when user intends to increase cruise speed with “Resume/ +” button. When this button is detected in pressed condition for calibrated time duration by EMS ECU, above DTCs is logged. Preliminary Checks: 1. Verify the customer concern on the vehicle 2. Save the failure record (DTCs, Freeze frame data etc.) using the diagnostic tool 3. Look for any loose or corroded connections, damaged pins, terminal back out, mouth open, broken connectors, blown fuses, faulty relays, unusual noises, vibrations, smells etc. in the probable trouble area(s) 4. Check the vehicle service history if there is any work done in the past related to the customer co ncern 5. Follow the steps as per the trouble shooting procedure Trouble Shooting: Step Checks If Yes If No 1 Check if there Cruise Resume/ Accel Switch on steering wheel is mechanically stuck or damaged? Replace cruise switch on steering wheel Go to Step 2 2 Check if the wiring harness connector is properly connected to the cruise switch & no damage or pin back out? Go to Step 3 Do the necessary repair 3 Check if there is any oxidation, rust, mud, dirt, foreign particle accumulation on the connector? Do the necessary repair Go to Step 4
