This document must not be used in any w ay, such as copying and redistributing to third parties, w ithout our consent P0383-00: Glow Plug Control Module 1 Control Circuit Low Overview: DTC Code P0383-00 DTC Description as per ISO standard Glow Plug Control Module 1 Control Circuit Low ECU Pin Number A93 Customer Symptom Delayed engine start under cold environment conditions Fault Effects (On Vehicle) Glow plug control will be disabled. Lamp Status (If Any) CE lamp is on. Fault Detection Condition Glow Plug Drive pin of EMS ECU SC to Ground. Normal Operating Condition No faults related to Glow Plug Drive from EMS Probable Trouble Area Glow plug controller, ECU, Wiring harness connections between EMS and GPIU. Healing Condition Clear the errors, Ignition OFF to ON, engine idle & fly-up condition Component Details: Under cold condition, the Engine will not start at first crank. So Glow plugs are used to increase the combustion chamber temperature allowing the air-fuel mixture to reach its self-ignition condition, which will ensure engine start with large benefit in-terms of emission & combustion. Preliminary Checks Check whether the customer voice / view about the issue is matching with the fault effects mentioned above. If yes, go ahead with next steps. If not, check for other DTC’s presence. Check whether similar complaints are earlier reported. If yes, perform the preliminary checks with respect to earlier issue closure. Check whether the GP relays are physically damaged. Check for pins back out at EMS ECU connector and Glow plug relays. Check the 60 A fuse of glow plug relay 1 and 2, replace if they are blown off. Check the fuse of EMS ECU main power relay, replace if it is blown off. Check whether glow plug is getting supply through main relay. Check whether the resistance of glow plugs is according to specifications, if not replace the glow plugs. Trouble Shooting: Step Checks IF YES IF NO
