This document must not be used in any w ay, such as copying and redistributing to third parties, w ithout our consent U0140-31: Loss of communication with Body Control Module- Bus Signal/ Message Failure Overview: DTC Code U0140-31 DTC Description as Per ISO Standards Loss of communication with Body Control Module Customer Symptom Smart Alternator function will not work in fixed mode (for Nexon only) Fault Effects (On Vehicle) BCM will not work Lamp Status (If Any) NA Fault Detection Condition 1. BCM connector is not connected properly or disconnected from its location. 2. CAN wire from BCM connector side is disconnected. 3. BCM is not powered up. 4. CAN_H, CAN_L or/ and both lines of BCM are opened. Normal Operating Condition ECM ECU communicates properly with BCM ECU Probable Trouble Area 1. Disconnection of the BCM ECU connector 2. CAN_H and CAN_L lines at BCM connector end Healing Condition 1. To fix the BCM connector correctly 2. Fix the wiring harness issues from BCM side. 3. CAN_H, CAN_L or/ and both lines of BCM are connected properly to the BCM connector.
