P0607-41 CVN Checksum Fault: General Checksum failure Overview: ISO Code • P0607-41 Customer Symptom • Critical malfunction. Powertrain is opened. Power loss immediately triggered. Fault Effects (On Vehicle) • No gearshifts. • Vehicle not cranking. • Transmission fault lamp ON Lamp Status (If Any) • Transmission fault lamp ON Fault Detection Condition • checksum calculation failed • Issue in Transmission Control Unit Calculates the calibration verification number of the code and calibration memory regions. Normal Operating Condition • Valid checksum value or ROM /RAM/Flash memory checksum integrity is valid during Power OFF. Probable Trouble Area • TCU damage • TCU or Wrong flash ROM content or ROM data reprogram illegally. Healing Condition • checksum calculation is correct Component Details: The Problem may occur due to an internal damage to TCU.TCU decides that error is detected, when CVN checksum is wrong by TCU internal operation. Preliminary Checks: 1) Battery voltage 2) Check for damage or back out of pins at TCU connectors. 3) Check correct fitment of ground cable connections on vehicle chassis (tightness, corrosion of mounting bolts etc.) Trouble Shooting:- Step Checks IF YES IF NO 1 Connect the diagnostic tool and check connection status to TCU. Is the TCU responding? Clear the DTC and do Ignition key ON/OFF with full power latch (20 sec). Repeat for 5 times. Repeat step 1, If TCU communicates, clear the fault, test drive the vehicle through all gears and release to customer after final drive test. Go to Step 2 2 Check Battery and Ignition supplies at pins 1,3and 5 respectively. Both are correct? Go to Step 4 rectify harness connections as per the circuit schematic 3 Is there any pin back out/damage/rust/oxidation observed on TCU Connector? Clean or repair or replace connector Go to Step 4
