P0641-17 5V sensor supply: voltage too high Overview: ISO Code P0641-17 Customer Symptom Critical malfunction. Powertrain is opened. Power loss immediately triggered Fault Effects (On Vehicle) Transmission fault lamp ON No gearshifts Engine not cranking Creeping inactive Lamp Status (If Any) Transmission fault lamp ON Service indication 0x1 Fault Detection Condition Internal TCU error 5V sensor supply >5,6V for >50ms. Normal Operating Condition Pressure sensors, drum angle sensor, drum motor connectors supply voltage is regulated at 5 V by TCU. Probable Trouble Area 1. Electrical connection to the pressure sensor & gear angle sensor 2. Transmission wiring harness. 3. TCU damaged. 4. Angle Sensor. 5. Hydraulic block containing the pressure sensor. Healing Condition The reaction is cleared at SW restart if the detection is FALSE for more than 0 ms Component Details: 5V sensor supply voltage is regulated at 5V by TCU. Connections are internal to TCU.Pressure sensors, drum angle sensor, drum motor connectors supply voltage is regulated at 5 V by TCU. Preliminary Checks: 1) Battery voltage 2) Check for damage or back out of pins at TCU connectors. 3) Check correct fitment of ground cable connections on vehicle chassis (tightness, corrosion of mounting bolts etc.) Trouble Shooting:- Step Checks IF YES IF NO 1. 1. Visually check the electrical connection to the pressure sensor & gear angle sensor. Is there any rust/oxidation/pin back out observed on TCU PIN 13 (Pressure sensor 5V supply) in Transmission side 28 pole connector? Check if the pressure sensors, drum angle sensor, drum motor connectors are properly connected and free from damage. Clear the DTC & check if the DTC becomes active again. Go to step 2 2. 2. If the fault is still active, change the transmission wiring harness. Clear the DTC & check if the DTC becomes active again. Go to step 3
