P0651-01 Speed sensor supply: undervoltage or overcurrent Overview: ISO Code P0651-01 Customer Symptom Critical malfunction. Powertrain is opened. Power loss immediately triggered Fault Effects (On Vehicle) Transmission Fault Lamp ON Gearshift is disable Creeping disable Lamp Status (If Any) Transmission fault lamp ON Service indication 0x1 Fault Detection Condition Internal TCU error speed sensor supply invalid output voltage <6.4V for >50ms. Normal Operating Condition Speed sensor - pump shaft, Speed sensor - inner shaft(clutch 2 speed), Speed sensor - outer shaft (clutch speed 1) connectors supply voltage is regulated at 12 V by TCU Probable Trouble Area 1. Electrical connection to the turbine, primary & secondary speed sensor. 2. Transmission wiring harness. 3. Speed sensor. 4. TCU Damaged. Healing Condition The reaction is cleared at SW restart if the detection is FALSE for more than 0 ms Component Details: The Speed sensor - pump shaft, Speed sensor - inner shaft(Clutch 2 speed), Speed sensor - outer shaft(clutch speed 1) used in clutch actuation module in order to precisely control the torque transferred by both clutches. Preliminary Checks: 1) Loose/ Damaged Connections between Sensor and TCU. 2) Visually check sensor mounting& Air gap, proper tightening of mounting screws and any visible damage. 3) Check for damage or back out of pins at Clutch speed sensor connector and TCU connector. 4) Check correct fitment of ground cable connections on vehicle chassis. Trouble Shooting:- Step Checks IF YES IF NO 1. Check if the ,Speed sensor - pump shaft, Speed sensor - inner shaft, Speed sensor - outer shaft connectors are properly connected and free from damage. Check if the connector pins are damage/backout.Visually check the wiring harness for damage/cut/pinch. Is there any rust/oxidation/pin back out observed on TCU PIN 23 (Speed sensor 12V supply) in Transmission side 28 pole connector? Clear the DTC & check if the DTC becomes active again. Go to step 2
