P0710-13 Transmission sump temperature sensor: open circuit Overview: ISO Code P0710-13 Customer Symptom • Transmission fault lamp ON • Mileage based reaction after 100 km warning message • Creep disable • Transmission limp home request to TCU Fault Effects (On Vehicle) • Transmission lamp = ON • Transmission MIL request • Creep disable Lamp Status (If Any) Service indication 0x2 Fault Detection Condition Disconnect the transmission sump temperature sensor. Normal Operating Condition TCU detect valid range value from sump temperature sensor Probable Trouble Area 1. transmission sump temperature sensor 2. transmission wiring 3. TCU Damaged Healing Condition The reaction is cleared at SW restart and driving if the detection is FALSE for more than 1000 ms Component Details: Transmission oil temperature sensor is installed internally in DT1 DCT. This sensor is used thermistor which is changed by temperature variation. Preliminary Checks: 1) Battery voltage 2) Check for damage or back out of pins at TCU connectors. 3) Check correct fitment of ground cable connections on vehicle chassis (tightness, corrosion of mounting bolts etc.) Trouble Shooting:- Step Checks IF YES IF NO 1. Check the transmission sump temperature value measured within the TCU using a diagnostics tool. If the signal value is feasible, Clear the DTC and check if the DTC does not come back. Go to step 2 2. If the DTC persists, measure resistance between two pins on transmission connector to see if sensor is <NOK> as per below table If it's defective, replace the transmission wiring loom, including the temperature sensor Go to step 3 3. If the DTC persists, replace the TCU if the problem persists and flash adaption values from the old TCU on the new TCU. Clear the DTC and check if the DTC does not come back. • Resistance Check
