P0813-14 Relay 4 (reverse light) output: short-circuit to ground or open circuit Overview: ISO Code P0813-14 Customer Symptom • Transmission fault lamp ON • Warning message "get vehicle checked" • Reverse lamp off Fault Effects (On Vehicle) • Transmission fault lamp ON • Warning message "get vehicle checked" • Reverse lamp off Lamp Status (If Any) Transmission fault lamp off Service indication 0x2 Fault Detection Condition Reverse light output connected to ground. For >100ms Normal Operating Condition TCU does not detect any fault Probable Trouble Area 1. Wiring loom from TCU towards the reverse light. 2. Reverse light. 3. TCU. Healing Condition The reaction is cleared at SW restart and driving if the detection is FALSE for more than 1000 ms Component Details: Reverse lamp output is a digital output from TCU is driven high to turn ON the reverse lamp through a reverse lamp relay. Preliminary Checks: 1) Check for damage/loose fit or back out of pins vehicle connector, Reverse lamp relay and relay box. 2) Check for visible damage to TCU pins. 3) Check correct fitment of ground cable connections on vehicle chassis. Trouble Shooting:- Step Checks IF YES IF NO 1 Check the wiring loom from TCU towards the reverse light. If damaged, replace the wiring harness. Is there any rust/oxidation/pin back out observed on TCU PIN 28 in vehicle side TCU 28 pole connector? Clear the DTC and check if the DTC does not come back. Go to step 2 2 If the problem persists, replace the reverse light. Clear the DTC and check if the DTC does not come back. Go to step 3 3 Replace the TCU if the problem persists & flash the adaption data from the previous TCU. Clear the DTC and check if the DTC does not come back. DTC’s confirmation:- After rectification, clear all DTC’s and ensure the following points by referring TCU parameters using TML diagnostic tool before handing over to customer. • Drive the vehicle through all gears in both Automatic and Manual modes. • Ensure no DTC is active and Transmission Fault Lamp is OFF.
