P0880-02 Battery voltage input: voltage out of allowed range for 1000ms Overview: ISO Code P0880-02 Customer Symptom • Transmission fault lamp ON • Critical malfunction. Powertrain is opened. Power loss immediately triggered • Gearshift disable • Creep disable Fault Effects (On Vehicle) • Transmission fault lamp ON • Critical malfunction. Powertrain is opened. Power loss immediately triggered • Gearshift disable • Creep disable Lamp Status (If Any) Transmission fault lamp ON Service indication 0x1 Fault Detection Condition (VBAT < 4.0V) OR (VBAT > 42.0V) This DTC shall not be triggered manually as it inflicts damage to the TCU. Normal Operating Condition TCU does not detect any fault Probable Trouble Area 1. Battery voltage fault. 2. Wiring harness towards the TCU. 3. TCU. Healing Condition The reaction is cleared at SW restart and driving if the detection is FALSE for more than 1000 ms Component Details: There are 2 TCU power supplies – 1 Ignition and 1 battery power for driving valves and the hydraulic pump. The Problem may occur due to an electrical problem or internal damage to TCU. Preliminary Checks: 1) Blown out TCU power fuses (2 X 30 Amp) 2) Battery voltage and state of charge. 3) Loose Fitting TCU connectors. 4) Check for damage or back out of pins at TCU pin connector. 5) Check correct fitment of ground cable connections on vehicle chassis. Trouble Shooting:- Step Checks IF YES IF NO 1 Check if other modules in the vehicle are also reporting the battery voltage fault. Measure the battery voltage and check if it is within specified range. Take corrective action to fix this issue. Go to step 2 2 Check wiring harness towards the TCU. Check the vehicle TCU connectors are properly connected and free from damage. Check the connectors pins are damaged/blackout.. If damaged, replace the wiring harness. Go to step 3 3 Check and save freezeframe data. Clear the DTC and check if the DTC does not come back Go to step 4 4 Replace the TCU if the problem persists & flash the adaption data from the previous TCU. Clear the DTC and check if the DTC does not come back
