P1713-11 Pressure control solenoid 4 (EDS 4) uncontrolled: short-circuit to ground Overview: ISO Code P1713-11 Customer Symptom • Transmission fault lamp ON • Gearshift disable • Creep disable, reverse and manual mode is disable • Critical malfunction. Powertrain is opened. Power loss immediately triggered Fault Effects (On Vehicle) • Transmission fault lamp ON • Gearshift disable • Creep disable, reverse and manual mode is disable • Critical malfunction. Powertrain is opened. Power loss immediately triggered Lamp Status (If Any) Transmission fault lamp ON Service indication 0x1 Fault Detection Condition Control solenoid 4 output connected to ground.(FFT=0ms) Normal Operating Condition TCU does not detect any error Probable Trouble Area 1. Transmission wiring loom for any damage. 2. TCU. 3. Hydraulic unit & transmission oil. Healing Condition The reaction is cleared at SW restart if the detection is FALSE for more than 0 ms Component Details: Clutch 1 & 2 actuation solenoid. Used in hydraulic control unit. EDS 4 = Clutch 1 (“Brake”) cooling flow solenoid. Preliminary Checks: 1) Loose/ Damaged Connections between Electro valve and TCU. 2) Loose/ Damaged mechanical fitments of TCU (TCU to valve body mounting). 3) Check correct fitment of ground cable connections on vehicle chassis. Trouble Shooting:- Step Checks IF YES IF NO 1 Check the transmission wiring loom for any damage. If damaged, replace the wiring loom. Is there any rust/oxidation/pin back out observed on TCU PIN 27 (clutch 1/brake colling) in transmission side TCU 28 pole connector? Clear the DTC and check if the DTC does not come back. Go to step 2 2 Replace the TCU if the problem persists & flash the adaption data from the previous TCU. Clear the DTC and check if the DTC does not come back. Go to step 3 3. If problem persists, place back the original TCU, and replace the hydraulic unit & transmission oil. Perform all necessary transmission adaptions. Clear the DTC and check if the DTC does not come back.
