P1722-11 Pressure control solenoid 5 (EDS 5) uncontrolled: short-circuit to ground Overview: ISO Code P1722-11 Customer Symptom • Transmission fault lamp ON • Critical malfunction. Powertrain is opened. Power loss immediately triggered. • Gearshift disable • Creep function disable Fault Effects (On Vehicle) • Transmission fault lamp ON • Critical malfunction. Powertrain is opened. Power loss immediately triggered. • Gearshift disable • Creep function disable Lamp Status (If Any) Transmission fault lamp ON Service indication 0x1 Fault Detection Condition internal TCU error pressure control solenoid 5 connected to ground.(FFT 0ms) Normal Operating Condition TCU does not detect any error Probable Trouble Area 1. Transmission wiring loom for any damage. 2. Hydraulic unit(line pressure solenoid) & transmission oil. 3. TCU. Healing Condition The reaction is cleared at SW restart if the detection is FALSE for more than 0 ms. Component Details: Clutch actuator 1 & 2 mounted in hydraulic control unit and makes internal electrical contact with the TCU. EDS 5 = Line pressure solenoid maintain line pressure necessary for clutch electrovalve 1 & 2. Preliminary Checks: 1) Loose/ Damaged Connections between Electro valve and TCU. 2) Loose/ Damaged mechanical fitments of TCU (TCU to valve body mounting). 3) Check correct fitment of ground cable connections on vehicle chassis. Trouble Shooting:- Step Checks IF YES IF NO 1. Check the transmission wiring loom for any damage. Is there any rust/oxidation/pin back out observed on TCU PIN 28 (Line pressure solenoid) in transmission side TCU 28 pole connector and on Pin 2 in Transmission circular connector? If damaged, replace the wiring loom. Go to step 2 2. If problem persists, replace the hydraulic unit (line pressure solenoid) & transmission oil. Perform all necessary transmission adaptions. Go to step 3
