P2722-19 Pressure control solenoid 5 (EDS 5): over current Overview: ISO Code P2722-19 Customer Symptom • Critical malfunction. Powertrain is opened. Power loss immediately triggered. Gearshift is disabled. • Transmission fault lamp ON • Creep function is disabled Fault Effects (On Vehicle) • Critical malfunction. Powertrain is opened. Power loss immediately triggered. Gearshift is disabled. • Transmission fault lamp ON • Creep function is disabled Lamp Status (If Any) Transmission fault lamp ON Service indication 0x1 Fault Detection Condition Solenoid 5 overcurrent for > 1000ms. Normal Operating Condition TCU does not detect overcurrent fault . Probable Trouble Area 1. Transmission wiring loom for any damage. 2. Hydraulic unit & transmission oil. 3. TCU. Healing Condition The reaction is cleared at SW restart if the detection is FALSE for more than 0 ms Component Details: The Clutch actuator 1 & 2 mounted in hydraulic control unit and makes internal electrical contact with the TCU. • EDS 5 = Line pressure solenoid Preliminary Checks: 1) Loose/ Damaged Connections between EDS 5 Solenoid and TCU. 2) Loose/ Damaged mechanical fitments of TCU (TCU to valve body mounting). 3) Check correct fitment of ground cable connections on vehicle chassis. Trouble Shooting:- Step Checks IF YES IF NO 1 Check the transmission wiring loom for any damage. If damaged, replace the wiring loom. Go to step 2 2 If problem persists, replace the hydraulic unit & transmission oil. Perform all necessary transmission adaptions. Go to step 3 3 Replace the TCU if the problem persists & flash the adaption data from the previous TCU. Clear the DTC and check if the DTC does not come back. • Resistance Check Solenoids , Pressure sensors mounted on HCU should be checked for resistance if there is DTC triggered. Below table reflects the signals for each solenoid and pressure sensor and range of acceptable resistance.
