P3012-44 TCU Memory / mismatch: ROM code checksum (Internal memory failure) Overview: ISO Code P3012-44 Customer Symptom • Critical malfunction. Powertrain is opened. Power loss immediately triggered. Gearshift is disabled. • Transmission fault lamp ON • Creep function is disabled. Fault Effects (On Vehicle) • Critical malfunction. Powertrain is opened. Power loss immediately triggered. Gearshift is disabled. • Transmission fault lamp ON • Creep function is disabled. Lamp Status (If Any) Transmission fault lamp ON Service indication 0x1 Fault Detection Condition Internal TCU failure Normal Operating Condition ROM /RAM/Flash memory checksum integrity is valid during Power OFF Probable Trouble Area 1. Transmission wiring loom (Speed sensor). 2. Speed sensor. 3. TCU. Healing Condition The reaction is cleared at SW restart Component Details: The Problem may occur due to an internal damage to TCU. Preliminary Checks: 1) Battery voltage 2) Check for damage or back out of pins at TCU connectors. 3) Check correct fitment of ground cable connections on vehicle chassis (tightness, corrosion of mounting bolts etc.) Trouble Shooting:- Step Checks IF YES IF NO 1 Check the transmission wiring loom (Speed sensor). If damaged, replace the transmission wiring harness. Connect the diagnostic tool and check connection status to TCU. Is the TCU responding? Clear the DTC and check if the DTC does not come back. Go to step 2 2 If DTC persists, replace the speed sensor. Perform all the necessary transmission adaptions. Clear the DTC and check if the DTC does not come back. Go to step 3 3 If DTC persists, Check with different TCU if the problem persists (flash the adaption data from the original TCU). If NOK, replace TCU, Clear the DTC and check if the DTC does not come back.
