P3123-45 BLDC actuation circuit: eeprom fault Overview: ISO Code P3123-45 Customer Symptom • BLDC/Drum motor deactivated, limited gears available • Transmission Fault Lamp ON Fault Effects (On Vehicle) • BLDC/Drum motor deactivated, limited gears available • Transmission Fault Lamp ON Lamp Status (If Any) Transmission Fault Lamp ON (Service indication 0x1) Fault Detection Condition Internal TCU error: BLDC actuation circuit SPI fault or Eeprom fault(FFT=500ms) Normal Operating Condition TCU does not detect any fault. Probable Trouble Area TCU. Healing Condition The reaction is cleared at SW restart Component Details: The BLDC motor is driving the shift “Drum” through a set of gears. By rotating the drum, the shift forks are synchronizing and engaging specific gear sets. BLDC controller supply voltage is regulated at 12V TCU. Connections are internal to TCU. Preliminary Checks: 1) Check for any visible damage BLDC controller to TCU. 2) Check correct fitment of ground cable connections on vehicle chassis. Trouble Shooting:- Step Checks IF YES IF NO 1. Check and save freezeframe data. Clear the DTC and check if the DTC does not come back. Go to step 2 2. If DTC persists, Check with different TCU (flash the adaption data from the original TCU) if the problem persists, if NOK, Replace TCU. Clear the DTC and check if the DTC does not come back. DTC’s confirmation:- After rectification, clear all DTC’s and ensure the following points by referring TCU parameters using TML diagnostic tool before handing over to customer. • Drive the vehicle through all gears in both Automatic and Manual modes. • Ensure no DTC is active and Transmission Fault Lamp is OFF.
