P3136-55 Variant coding software: - 55: not configured Overview: ISO Code P3136-55 Customer Symptom • Critical malfunction. Power train is opened. Power loss immediately triggered- Gearshift is disabled. • Transmission fault lamp ON • Creep function is disabled Fault Effects (On Vehicle) • Critical malfunction. Power train is opened. Power loss immediately triggered- Gearshift is disabled. • Transmission fault lamp ON • Creep function is disabled Lamp Status (If Any) • Transmission fault lamp ON(Service indication 0x1) Fault Detection Condition This fault gets detected after Ignition On if TCU detects that the Variant Coding service procedure has not been done or not successfully completed Normal Operating Condition Variant Coding Procedure is successfully completed at End of line or after service part replacements (refers service manual) that require such procedure. Probable Trouble Area Wrong execution conditions of variant coding Healing Condition The reaction is cleared at SW restart if the detection is FALSE for more than 0 ms Component Details:- Preliminary Checks:- 1) Check for damage/loose fit or back out of pins at TCU 28 pin vehicle connector. 2) Check for visible damage to TCU pins 3) Battery Voltage Trouble Shooting:- Step Checks IF YES IF NO 1. Check DID variant coding for default value if 0x80008000. Clear the DTC and check if the DTC does not come back. Go to step 2 2. Write correct variant code data to 0xF100 see it DTC is cleared. Clear the DTC and check if the DTC does not come back. DTC’s confirmation:- After execution of variant code data, clear all DTC’s and ensure the following points by referring TCU parameters using TML diagnostic tool before handing over to customer. • Drive the vehicle through all gears in both Automatic and Manual modes. • Ensure no DTC is active and Transmission Fault Lamp is OFF.
