U0155-00 CAN communication with ICU failed Overview: ISO Code U0155-00 Customer Symptom • warning light on dashboard • Transmission fault lamp ON • Creep function is disabled Fault Effects (On Vehicle) • warning light on dashboard • Transmission fault lamp ON • Creep function is disabled Lamp Status (If Any) • Transmission fault lamp ON (Service indication 0x2) Fault Detection Condition CAN communication failure (either CRC or time-out or sequence counter) with the ICU node (on the receiving side, i.e. TCU = receiver) for > 1000ms Normal Operating Condition IPC ECU communicated properly with DCT TCU Probable Trouble Area 1. ICU controller. 2. TCU. 3. Wiring harness towards TCU. Healing Condition The reaction is cleared at SW restart and driving if the detection is FALSE for more than 1000 ms Component Details:- Controller Area Network or CAN protocol is a method of communication between various electronic devices like engine management systems, IPC, ABS, gear control, lighting control, air conditioning, airbags, central locking etc. embedded in an automobile. Preliminary Checks:- 1. Check for short conditions between CAN_H-CAN_L, CAN_H-GND, CAN_L-GND, CAN_H-Vbatt and CAN_L-Vbatt at OBD connector. There should not be any short circuit conditions. 2. Check wiring harness with respect to CAN H and CAN L. Trouble Shooting:- Step Checks IF YES IF NO 1. Check the ICU controller and the CAN connection from the engine controller. Check other modules on CAN, if this issue is reported. Fix the problem on ICU controller. Go to step 2 2. If this issue is only reported in TCU, disconnect the vehicle side connector on TCU & connect it back again. Clear the DTC and check if the DTC does not come back. Go to step 3 3. If issue persists, check wiring harness towards TCU. If damaged, replace the vehicle side tranmission wiring harness. Clear the DTC and check if the DTC does not come back.
