U0416-00 Invalid Data Received From ABS/ESP Module Overview: ISO Code U0416-00 Customer Symptom none Fault Effects (On Vehicle) Transmission failure lamp OFF Lamp Status (If Any) Transmission failure lamp OFF (Service indication 0x0) Fault Detection Condition Inject incorrect values of ABS, ESP, MSR or ASR signals from ABS/ESP module (FFT=1100ms) Normal Operating Condition ABS ECU communicated properly with DCT TCU Probable Trouble Area 1. ABS/ESP controller 2. TCU 3. Wiring harness towards TCU. Healing Condition The reaction is cleared at SW restart and driving if the detection is FALSE for more than 1100 ms Component Details:- Controller Area Network or CAN protocol is a method of communication between various electronic devices like engine management systems, ABS, lighting control, air conditioning, airbags, central locking etc. embedded in an automobile. Preliminary Checks:- 1. Check for short conditions between CAN_H-CAN_L, CAN_H-GND, CAN_L-GND, CAN_H-Vbatt and CAN_L-Vbatt at OBD connector. There should not be any short circuit conditions. 2. Check wiring harness with respect to CAN H and CAN L. Trouble Shooting:- Step Checks IF YES IF NO 1. Check the ABS/ESP controller, if this issue is reported. Fix the problem on ABS/ESP controller. Go to step 2 2. If this issue is only reported in TCU, disconnect the vehicle side connector on TCU & connect it back again. Check resistance between pin number 14 and 15 of vehicle side TCU connector . It should be 60 ~ 65 ohm. Clear the DTC and check if the DTC does not come back. Go to step 3 3. If issue persists, check wiring harness towards TCU. If damaged, replace the vehicle side transmission wiring harness. Clear the DTC and check if the DTC does not come back. DTC’s confirmation:-
