U2100-29 Engine CAN speed out of range Overview: ISO Code U2100-29 Customer Symptom Transmission Fault Lamp ON Fault Effects (On Vehicle) Transmission Fault Lamp ON Lamp Status (If Any) Transmission Fault Lamp ON (Service indication 0x2) Fault Detection Condition Set CAN engine speed signal to error value (FFT = 1100ms) Normal Operating Condition engine speed is sent as valid by EMS over CAN Probable Trouble Area 1. Engine controller. 2. Engine speed sensor/speed sensor wiring harness. 3. TCU. 4. Wiring harness towards TCU. Healing Condition The reaction is cleared during driving if the detection is FALSE for more than 1100 ms Component Details:- Engine Speed signal is transmitted via CAN bus to the TCU. Preliminary Checks:- 1) Loose/ Damaged Crank sensor Connections. 2) Check for damage or back out of pins at EMS connector and TCU connector. 3) Check correct fitment of ground cable connections on vehicle chassis. Trouble Shooting:- Step Checks IF YES IF NO 1. Check the engine controller, if this issue is reported. Diagnose the crank sensor input to EMS (Refer EMS service manual), is there a Fix the problem on engine controller or engine speed sensor/speed sensor wiring harness. Go to step 2
