This document must not be used in any way, such as copying and redistributing to third parties, without the consent of author. 193.U2120-01 Drive mode switch defect Over view : ISO Code U2120-01 Customer Symptom • Drive modes are unavailable Fault Effects (On Vehicle) • Drive modes are uavailable Lamp Status (If Any) Transmission Fault Lamp OFF (Service indication 0x0 ) Fault Detection Condition Drive mode switch defect signal sends error value for > 1100ms Normal Operating Condition Drive modes are available Probable Trouble Area Drive mode switch and EMS ECU Healing Condition The reaction is cleared at SW restart if the detection is FALSE for more than 0 ms Component details: Drive mode switch is hardwired to EMS ECU. Drive mode switch published ECO,SPORT drive mode switch information to DCT TCU on vehicle CAN bus. Preliminary Checks: 3. Check for Drive mode switch connection 4. Check for battery supply. Trouble Shooting:- Step Checks IF YES IF NO 1. 1. Check the Drive mode switch hardware & corresponding controller. Fix the problem on switch or EMS ECU controller. Go to step 2 Replace the battery 2 2. If this issue is only reported in TCU, disconnect the vehicle side connector on TCU & connect it back again. Clear the DTC and check if the DTC does not come back Clear DTC and check for DTC again in TDS tool Go to step3 3 3. If issue persists, check wiring harness towards TCU. If damaged, replace the vehicle side tranmission wiring harness. Clear the DTC and check if the DTC does not come back. Clear the DTC and check if the DTC does not come back. Correct the wiring harness DTC’s confirmation:- After rectification, clear all DTC’s and ensure the following points by referring TCU parameters using TML diagnostic tool before handing over to customer. • Drive the vehicle through all gears in both Automatic and Manual modes. • Ensure no DTC is active and Transmission Fault Lamp is OFF.
