U0164-08:- Lost communication with HVAC Control Module- Message Timeout Failure Overview:- ISO Code U0164-08 Customer Symptom No Customer symptom Fault Effects (On Vehicle) No vehicle effect. Lamp Status (If Any) N.A Fault Detection Condition 1. HVAC connector is not connected properly or disconnected from its location 2. CAN Stub wire from HVAC connector side is disconnected. 3. HVAC ECU is not powered up. Normal Operating Condition HVAC ECU communicates properly with TML diagnostic Tool. Probable Trouble Area Disconnection of the HVAC connector Healing Condition To fix the HVAC connector correctly and Fix the wiring harness issues from HVAC side. Trouble Shooting:- Start Read IVN DTCs in IPC If MTO logged against CCM in current state? No (In history) Check continuity between HVAC CAN_H (pin no.24 ) to IPC CAN_H(pin no.6 ) and HVAC CAN_L (pin no.22 ) to IPC CAN_L(pin no. 5) in vehicle wiring side connector. Is continuity there? Repair the wiring harness Clear DTC Stop Check Ignition (pin no.11), Battery (pin no.15,16) and Ground (pin no.1,2 ) of HVAC is properly connected or not. Also check fuse blown (fuse10A) Do necessary repair in the harness Yes Yes No U0164-08 Loss of communication HVAC Control Module
