Procedure for the replacement of Smart Key Battery 1) Locate the Battery Cover on Smart Key (Refer Figure-1 and Figure-5). 2) Remove the Smart Key battery cover very carefully by the dedicated screw panel. (Refer Figure-2). NOTE: The screw panel is Φ 3.5 X 0.6mm (Tip X Thickness) andthe Force required for opening of Battery cover of Smart Key is 10N minimum. 3) Remove the Smart Key battery from its slot using a pin-point object. NOTE: Since, the battery consists of various hazardous materials, make sure to follow the standard regulations to dispose the battery which is removed from Smart Key. 4) Insert the new Battery in the Smart Key battery slot (Refer Figure-3). NOTE: Before inserting the battery in Smart Key battery slot, make sure that the battery terminals (i.e. positive / negative terminals are as per the terminals marking inside Smart Key cover. Also, make sure that the battery shall be inserted in the requisite slot with very delicacy. i.e. the more force shall not be applied while inserting the battery, else it may damage the Smart Key) 5) Close the rear side of Smart Key with its cover. 6) Ensure that the Smart Key cover is intact properly with Smart Key device. NOTE: Refer the Steps explained in Figure-4 to know about the Battery removal method. 2.2.2. Procedure for the replacement of Smart Key NOTE: Refer "Smart key addition procedure" in the document “PEPS_Part Replacement Procedure_Vx.x”, where x.x is the document version number. 2.3. If Smart Key or its Battery is to be replaced 1) Dealer order the new Smart Key or Smart Key Battery from SPD & receives the same. 2) Replace old Smart Key Battery with Battery (Refer section 2.2.1) 3) If Smart Key has to be replaced, then refer section 2.2.2 4) Return vehicle back to customer.
