P0193-15: Natural Gas Rail pressure sensor Circuit High - Circuit Short to Battery or open circuit Overview: ISO Code P0193-15 Customer Symptom Vehicle will able to drive in both Gasoline and CNG fuel mode with MIL ON Fault Effects (On Vehicle) CNG leak detection in the low pressure line is not activated. Lamp Status (If Any) MIL ON after 1 drive cycles Fault Detection Condition This fault occurs when CNG Rail Pressure Sensor Signal Pin 225 short circuit to Battery or open- circuit in any fuel mode Normal Operating Condition Fuel mode changeover as per selection Probable Trouble Area Wiring Harness Connections, CNG Rail Pressure Sensor and EMS ECU Healing Condition After 3 drive cycles Fault Permanent deletion 1. Clear DTC Command form Scan tool 2. Stack Over Flow. 3. 40 warm up cycles. 4. ECU Flashing. 5. ECU Power-Fail Component Details: The CNG rail pressure and temperature sensor is a solid state pressure transducer having a NTC thermistor for measuring pressure and temperature of CNG. The pressure sensor is a semiconductor that varies electrical resistance when pressure is applied to its silicon chip. This sensor outputs the voltage in proportion to the internal fuel pressure. Preliminary Checks: 1) Loose/ Damaged Connections between CNG Rail Pressure Sensor and EMS ECU. 2) Check for back out of pins at both CNG Rail Pressure Sensor connector and ECU connector. 3) Check for damage of pins at both CNG Rail Pressure Sensor connector and ECU connector. 4) Check the continuity from CNG Rail Pressure Sensor connector pins to the ECU pins. Trouble Shooting:- Step Checks IF YES IF NO 1. Check the continuity from Rail Pressure Sensor pin to the ECU pins 225. Rectify/Replace Connectors Go to Step 2. 2. Check for back out or open circuit of pins at both Sensor connector and ECU connector Rectify/Replace Connectors Go to Step 3. 3. Check for damage of pins at both Sensor connector and ECU connector Rectify/Replace Connectors Go to Step 4. 4. Rail Pressure Sensor Pin 225 Short circuit to Battery Rectify/Replace Connectors Go to Step 5. 5. Fault Still Persists? Replace Sensor and then Fault still persists then Replace EMS ECU Follow the steps again for reconfirmation
