P2229-15: Barometric Pressure Circuit High – circuit short to battery or open

Customer Symptom
Vehicle drivability will be affected
Fault Effects (On Vehicle)
Vehicle drivability will be affected
Lamp Status (If Any)
CE Lamp ON after 1 driving cycle
Fault Detection Condition
This fault gets logged when the Barometric Pressure Sensor signal is short
Circuited to battery.
Normal Operating Condition
Proper signal from Barometric Pressure Sensor to EMS ecu
Probable Trouble Area
Barometric Pressure Sensor mounted on EMS ECU
Healing Condition
After 1 drive cycles
Fault permanent deletion
1. Clear DTC Command form Scan tool
2. Stack Over Flow.
3. 40 warm up cycles.
4. ECU Flashing.
5. ECU Power-Fail
Component Details:
EMS ECU is an electronic controller which controls the Engine functionality by interfacing with various Sensors,
actuators and other controllers (via CAN). Barometric Pressure Sensor is Mounted on EMS ecu, which provides the
atmospheric pressure value to EMS ecu.
Preliminary Checks:
1. Check whether the EMS is receiving Battery supply and Ground
2. Check whether the Battery is healthy
Trouble Shooting:-

Go to step 2
Rectify wiring
harness
connections as
per schematic

Check whether the battery is healthy
Go to step 3
Repair Battery

If fault still persists
Replace EMS ECU
Repeat above
procedure for
reconfirmation
DTC’s confirmation:-
After rectification, ensure the following points by referring engine parameters using TML diagnostic tool before
handing over to customer.
Replace EMS ECU and check whether the fault is rectified or not.
