B1C20-13 : Steering Wheel control Signal Input Open Circuit/Short to Battery

Overview:

Write up for the Related Sensor/Actuator or system:-

Steering wheel control module – This steering wheel control module is located on steering wheel. Using steering

wheel control module, user can change volume/media/radio settings.

Trouble Shooting:-

Below given flowcharts guides to troubleshoot the fault:

Customer Symptom

User is unable to change volume/media/radio settings using

steering wheel control module.

Fault Effects (On Vehicle)

No

Lamp Status (If Any)

No

Fault Detection Condition

1. User is unable to change volume/media/radio settings

using steering wheel control module.

2. This DTC gets logged when connection between

steering wheel control signal input and Head Unit is

Open/Short to Battery.

Normal Operating Condition

When user changes settings of volume/media/radio using

steering wheel Control, accordingly Head Unit will process it.

Probable Trouble Area

Wiring harness between HU and Steering wheel

control.

HU Connector and connector terminals

Steering wheel control connector and its terminals

x

Intermittent connector and their terminals
